Valdosta State University 50th Year of Integration

In the fall semester of 2013, VSU kicked off its 50th year of integration.  The first minority students attended in 1963, and the population of minority students has grown since that time.  The Integration Committee has hosted a number of events over the academic year to commemorate the occasion, and has established a scholarship in honor of the first two minority students, Mrs. Drewnell Thomas and Mr. Robert Pierce.  Activist, actor, and author Hill Harper will be the guest speaker at the scholarship fundraiser event being held on February 25th, in an effort to secure endowment for the scholarship. I will provide the donation website on the flyer that will be handed out.
