VSU Hosts Student Organization Fair Feb. 1

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University’s Office of Student Life will host a Student Organization Fair from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, in the Student Union Rotunda.

Student representatives from some of VSU’s more than 200 social, service, spiritual, academic, political, athletic, cultural, musical, and professional organizations on campus will be on hand to answer questions, provide information, and recruit new members.

By encouraging a more well-rounded educational experience, participation in extracurricular activities outside of classes has been shown to positively affect student learning and development. Students who join student organizations tend to have better negotiating, communicating, conflict management, leadership, critical thinking, and time management skills. They also tend to demonstrate more self-confidence, autonomy, social maturity, and an appreciation for others’ differences and similarities.

Contact John Wright, associate director of the Office of Student Life, at (229) 333-5674 or jowright@valdosta.edu to learn more.
