VSU Offers Year-Round Swimming Lessons for Children, Adults

VALDOSTA — Valdosta State University now offers year-round swimming lessons for children and adults.

Lessons are available by request in the indoor, heated Student Recreation Center pool on Sustella Avenue and taught by experienced Campus Recreation swim instructors. Each session lasts 30 minutes.

Private lessons are $25 per session. Semi-private lessons, which are designed for two people, are $30 per session, or $15 per person. Discounts are available for current Student Recreation Center members and fee-paying students who wish to take lessons.

Skill knowledge and performance are evaluated during the first session, which is free of charge.

Children must be 3 years of age and potty trained before registering for lessons.

Every day, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 10 people die from unintentional drowning.
