VSU Hosts Symposium for Area Bankers

VALDOSTA—Valdosta State University’s Langdale College of Business Administration in partnership with the Georgia Bankers Association (GBA) will host the fourth annual South Georgia Community Bankers Symposium Thursday, Sept. 19 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.

“The symposium gives the local community bankers access to leaders in the banking industry,” said Dr. Ellis Heath, assistant professor of economics and coordinator of the symposium. “The presentations will cover topics such as market trends and opportunities to solidify the next generation of premier community banks.”

Some of the presenters include Joe Brannen, president and CEO of GBA; Dr. Cynthia Tori, VSU professor of economics; Dr. William Staats, chairman of SevenOaks Capital Associates, LLC; Eric Wimbush, senior relationship manager with Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta; and Eric Gagliano, senior vice president with MarketMatch in Beaver Creek, Ohio.
