VSU’s Relay for Life Takes Place April 26

VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life will be held from 7 p.m. Friday, April 26, to dawn Saturday morning on the front lawn. VSU faculty, staff and students are invited to join together to celebrate, remember and fight back against cancer by joining or donating to one of the 46 teams listed on the relay website.

There are several other ways to participate. VSU organizations and departments can contribute $100 by April 11 and receive special recognition the day of the event. Individuals can also recognize a loved one by purchasing a luminaria for $5. If you or someone you know is a survivor, sign up to participate in the survivor walk. Individuals can also participate in dress in support of relay days on April 10.

The event for the opening ceremony at will be held at 7 p.m. to recognize survivors and teams. The luminaria ceremony will begin around 9:30 p.m.

There will be many activities and teams providing games, food and more to continue to raise money throughout the night.
