City Extends Hours of Service for Incoming VSU Students

VALDOSTA -- The City of Valdosta’s Customer Service Center will have extended hours of service to accommodate the new and returning Valdosta State University students that are expected to move in over the next couple of weeks and will be requiring city water and sewer services.

The Customer Service Center, located at 102 N. Lee Street (on the corner of N. Lee Street and E. Hill Avenue), will have the following extended hours in anticipation of the increase of customers the week before VSU begins its fall semester:

Thursday, Aug. 2 - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 3 - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 4 - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

VSU reports that over 8,000 students live off campus, and a significant number of them leave during the summer and return in the fall. The extended hours of operation will allow the Customer Service Center staff, who serves approximately 2,000 customers on an average day, to provide the best customer service to our college community.

Students who want to take advantage of the extended hours should bring the following items with them to the Customer Service Center:

· Copy of Lease --Verify address on lease is correct and be sure to include apartment number, if any.
· Photo ID Card
· Social Security Card
· $50 deposit
· $18 Administration Fee
