VSU's Dance Marathon to Host Blazer-A-Thon on March 30

VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University’s Dance Marathon will host Blazer-A-Thon for the Children’s Miracle Network starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 30, on the front lawn. The Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization dedicated to funding children’s hospitals across the nation.

VSU fraternities, sororities and a variety of campus organizations will help raise money for Shands Children's Hospital located in Gainesville, Fla., and pledge to stand on their feet for six hours. Blazers will start "Partying with a Purpose" on the front lawn and stay on their feet continuously from 6 p.m. until midnight. To keep the dancers on their feet, a variety of activities, entertainment and themed hours have been planned. The public is invited to attend, make donations and encourage VSU participants.

Dance Marathon has been a part of CMN since 1991 and a part of VSU since 2001. Today, more than 150 U.S. colleges and universities has raised over $50 million for CMN with 100 percent of those proceeds going directly to local CMN hospitals. Students interested in participating in the event can visit Dance Marathon’s registration site at dmvsu.kintera.org. This site also enables people to make donations and business to sponsor.
