Dr. Wiseman Awarded The Outstanding Major Contribution of the Year2010

VALDOSTA -- Dr. Marcie Wiseman of the VSU Counseling Center was recently awarded The Outstanding Major Contribution of the Year 2010 from The Counseling Psychologist, the official publication of The Society of Counseling Psychology.

“While it is always nice to be recognized for your hard work on something, for me the value of this award is that by choosing to recognize this work, The Counseling Psychologist is communicating the importance and need for continued scholarship on lesbian, gay, and bisexual people of color,” the VSU counselor said. “This work was a team effort, and I am lucky to have collaborated with an amazing group of people.”

Wiseman contributed as a co-author of two journal articles appearing in The Counseling Psychologist. She was recognized, along with her co-authors, during the Annual Conference of The American Psychological Association in Washington, D.C. Along with the award, she was also nominated and accepted as an ad hoc reviewer for The Counseling Psychologist.
