VSU's Ribbon Cutting for SIFE Skills Success Center

VALDOSTA -- A ribbon cutting for VSU’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Skills Success Center is scheduled at 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Ora Lee West Homes (corner of N. Lee Street and E. Ann Street) in Valdosta.

The new Skills Success Center is a multipurpose learning facility that will address the social, economic and educational needs of children and families living in the Ora Lee West housing area. Construction on the 1,700-square-foot dynamic learning center began in September 2010.

As part of the ribbon cutting celebration, Second Harvest of South Georgia will partner with SIFE to distribute 24,000 pounds of food (400 family food boxes) to residents of Ora Lee West. Second Harvest and Sam’s Club of Valdosta will host a cookout immediately following the ribbon cutting and other refreshments will be provided.
