ZTA Urges Campus to THINK-PINK!

VALDOSTA -- Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) will host a series of THINK-PINK! events during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in hopes of spreading the word about the second leading cause of cancer death in women.

Since 1992, the ZTA Foundation has partnered with Susan G. Komen for the Cure -- the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists, which has invested more than $1.5 billion in breast cancer research and prevention education. ZTA is tackling breast cancer through a partnership with the National Football League and the Yoplait Yogurt “Save Lids to Save Lives” campus campaign, which donates $.10 for each lid to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Collection boxes are located throughout campus as VSU’s Eta lota Chapter competes against other ZTA chapters to collect the most pink lids.

“Our overall objective for THINK-PINK! is to educate others and to spread the word about breast cancer and help raise as much money as possible for the cause” said Hannah Spears, president of VSU’s Eta lota Chapter, which raised more than $14,400 last October during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
