VSU Hosts Spring Career Expo March 31

VALDOSTA - Valdosta State University’s Office of Career Services will host the Spring Career Expo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, in the University Center Magnolia Room.

Businesses and organizations from the Southeastern U.S. are invited to join the expo for the chance to attract the best and the brightest from the area. The registration fee will guarantee a place for two representatives with free onsite wireless access and refreshments. Those interested can also place company literature and lists of vacancies at the event.

Students, alumni and university friends have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with regional business representatives. Participants should dress professionally and bring several copies of their resumes. Companies will be discussing full, part-time and co-op opportunities, career information and planning, and internships/practicums.

“The expo has always been beneficial in helping students jump start their job search but in today’s current economic crisis, it is crucial that students speak with corporate and governmental recruiters interested in offering employment opportunities,” Winifred Collins, director of Career Services, said. ”Individuals holding or pursuing a degree at another institution are invited as well.”

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for maximum exposure to all representatives. A list of participating employers is available at www.valdosta.edu/career or from the office, Powell Hall west, second floor.

Call 229-333-5942 for more information about the event and other opportunities through Career Services.
