Contrabass Faculty Recital
VALDOSTA - Dr. Tod Leavitt will be performing a faculty
contrabass recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug 28, in Whitehead
Auditorium.
The free performance, which is open to the public, will include "A
Carman Fantasy" with Amy Neal on the piano and "The Return of
Sherlock Holmes" for contrabass and characters.
Playing acoustic and electric bass for over 20 years, Leavitt has
performed with dozens of symphony orchestras. He is a featured
soloist for several orchestras including the Macomb Symphony
Orchestra. Playing classical jazz Leavitt has played with legends
like Dave Brubeck and George Benson. In popular music he has
collaborated with bands such as The Moody Blues.
