Centennial Committee Hosts Art Exhibition, Awards Ceremony
VALDOSTA - After pouring time and energy into creating
impressive, original pieces, the students participating in the VSU
Centennial Student Art Competition will see their work on display
at a reception and awards ceremony from 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 3,
in Odum Library.
Prizes will be awarded for first place, $400, second place, $300,
and third place, $200, based on originality and artistic
excellence. From watercolor to graphite to digital photography, the
collection features work that capitalizes on the beauty of main
campus or emphasizes aspects of VSU important to the creator. Many
pieces will be on sale and available for pick-up upon close of the
exhibition at the end of April.
The public is invited to support these amazing student artists at
the opening and throughout the exhibition. For more information
