Campus Alert: VSU Receives Bomb Threat - $5,000 reward offered forinformation

Valdosta State University received a bomb threat on Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. VSU’s Police Department evacuated Centennial Hall at approximately 11:45 p.m., in response to a bomb threat that was placed through a call to the Emergency 911 Center. Students and staff were escorted to a secure location. Valdosta Fire Department and Police responded and assisted with the evacuation of the building. Moody Air Force Base K-9 bomb team performed a search of all three floors of the building. Residents were allowed back in the residence hall at approximately 4 a.m. VSU Police is investigating and a $5,000 reward is offered for information leading to the arrest and successful prosecution of an individual or individuals involved.
