VSU Names Assistant Director for Administration, Farber Health

Valdosta - Lynette Lewis joined the staff of Farber Health Center on Wednesday, Jan. 2, as the assistant director for administration.

Lewis will monitor the daily activities of the health center to ensure operations run smoothly and all needs are met. She plans to build solutions for the health center based on past experiences in the field of health and management.

“Quality of life is very important to me and this job gives me the opportunity to help build the students’ quality of life,” says Lewis.

Lewis said she considers herself a lifelong learner and believes that the environment at VSU is perfect for her. She brings to the staff 23 years of experience in the fields of business and health care, serving as administrator and professor. She holds a BS in Community Health Education from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, a MLS in Library Administration from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, and a MBA in Information Systems from City University, Bellevue, WA.

The Virginia native feels that the Valdosta area boasts many opportunities for her to give back to the community, which is one reason she and her husband chose to settle here.

“Valdosta seemed to be the perfect place to be a steward in the community and I plan on giving back as much as I can,” Lewis said.
