Web Editorial Board Web site Online

VALDOSTA - The Web Editorial Board (WEB), the oversight body for the official Valdosta State University Web site, has published its own Web site, which is designed to provide information as well as outlets for direct feedback.

Formed in 2006, the WEB is charged to develop policies for Web page construction; monitor Web pages to ensure consistency, compliance with set standards and freedom from errors; and evaluate and consider deviations from standards. Its new site offers a general summary of the board’s charges, a list of members, guidelines for compliance and content management and more. Electronic forms give visitors the ability to request deviation from standards, ask questions or provide general feedback.

The site also offers a PDF version of the University’s Visual Identity Program guide, a policy governing the preparation and management of documents and information accessible on the World Wide Web that represent Valdosta State University. It defines the scope of the Web site and its appropriate use, while also aiming to ensure that those creating official university Web pages, as well as individual Web pages, conform to and understand the applicable policies and guidelines. Web page authors are required to adhere to the policies described in this document to ensure all information is published in a consistent manner to best represent the University.

The Web site can be accessed at www.valdosta.edu/web . For more information, please call the board’s chairperson, Sherrida Crawford, at (229) 333-5872 or email her at crawford@valdosta.edu.
