VSU Helps Fans Gear Up for Playoffs

VALDOSTA - The Valdosta State University Alumni Association, along with Student Affairs, is helping fans gear up for the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference playoffs this Saturday by passing out VSU towels to display in support of the Blazers and giving free tickets to students.

Student Affairs encouraged participation from VSU students by purchasing more than 1,000 tickets, available in the Dean of Students office.

The department has also collaborated with the Alumni Association to purchase approximately 2,000 VSU towels for football fans. The towels made a powerful statement at last Saturday’s football game, showing united support for the football team. Because a limited number are available, VSU encourages those who already have VSU towels to bring them back for Saturday’s playoff game. Additional towels will be available starting at noon Saturday, Dec.1, outside Bazemore-Hyder Stadium, while supplies last.

VSU also encourages its fans to support the team during the Blazer Walk, VSU’s newest football tradition. Fans can greet team members as they walk down Jane Street into the stadium to prepare for the game.
