VSU Celebrates Peacekeepers
VALDOSTA - The Department of Modern and Classical Languages
along with Soka Gakkai International-USA, is celebrating the lives
of three world peacekeepers, Mohandas K. Gandhi, Martin Luther King
Jr. and Daisaku Ikeda, until Thursday, Oct. 4. The event features a
special exhibit, open forum and lawn concert.
The exhibit, titled “A Legacy of Building Peace,” is open to the
public from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., through Thursday, Oct. 4, in Odum
Library. An open discussion will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday,
Oct. 3, in the Odum Library Theatre, hosted by Dr. Theresa
Thompson, Dr. Marc G. Pufong and Dr. Ericka H. Parra. The
celebration will wrap up with the Concert for World Peace, from 7-8
p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, featuring the progressive rock group “Mia
Medusa.”
