The American Issues Invitational Lecture Series Inaugural Event

Dr. Charles S. Bullock III will kick off the inaugural event of the American Issues Invitational Lecture Series, organized through the Valdosta State University department of Political Science, with a speech in the Hugh C. Bailey Science Center on January 25, 2007 beginning at 7 pm. Dr. Bullock, who holds the Richard B. Russell Chair in Political Science and is Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor at the University of Georgia, will discuss the 2006 Elections and the future of Georgia politics.

Bullock served as past president to the Southern Political Science Association and the Georgia Political Science Association, as well as, past chair to the Legislative Studies Group. In addition, Bullock authored, co-authored, or co-edited over 17 books and more than 150 articles.

“The department chose Dr. Bullock to give this lecture, because he is one of the South’s leading experts on elections and politics in the region,” Dr. James W. Peterson, department head for Political Science, said. “Concerned citizens, practitioners of politics, students, staff members and faculty will all obtain a deepened understanding of political currents that influence their lives and careers.”
