Over 900 expected at Valdosta State University Visitation Day
A multitude of approximately 900 students, parents and family
members are expected for Visitation Day at Valdosta State
University, on Saturday, October 29.
The university holds this event three times a year to give
prospective high school juniors and seniors and transfer students
who are interested in attending VSU a chance to learn more about
the campus. Representatives from various VSU departments and
organizations are present in a carousel of booths set up on the
mezzanine level of the PE complex.
Guests are also taken on campus tours, led by volunteer student
guides, and are treated to lunch at the campus' Palms Dining
Center.
"The event is a great tool for students to narrow down their school
choices, because they can see what we have to offer, meet
personally with the faculty, and envision themselves here at VSU as
students," said Lisa Long, VSU associate director of
admissions.
Long said the majority of prospective students and guests come from
the Atlanta metro area. However, a similar event earlier this year
had a good turn out from Lowndes County, as well.
For more information on Visitation Day, contact Long at the VSU
Admissions Department at 333-5791.
