Flag Bank President and CEO to speak at Harley Langdale, Jr.Lecture Series

Valdosta State University's Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration announces a public invitation to attend the Harley Langdale, Jr. Lecture Series featuring J. Thomas Wiley, Jr., Chief Banking Officer/ President and Chief Executive Officer of Flag Bank. This event will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 10:00 A.M. in the Pound Hall Auditorium located on VSU's Rea & Lillian Steele North Campus. In his lecture, ?A Banker's Journey: From Classroom to Boardroom,? Wiley will lecture about his career in banking.

Wiley joined Flag Financial Corporation, the Atlanta-based, publicly traded parent company of Flag Bank, in February 2002. Flag Bank has operated as a community bank in Georgia for over 75 years and currently has 24 offices in 14 counties.

Currently, Wiley is vice chairman and director of the Georgia Bankers Association. He also serves on the board of directors for the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Prior to joining Flag Financial, he was part of the Bank Corporation of Georgia, an organization where he served in various executive management roles until its merger with Century South Banks in 1997. In 1999, he was named executive vice president and chief banking officer for Century South.

The Harley Langdale, Jr. Lecture Series provides Valdosta State University business students and the public an opportunity to hear lectures on a wide range of business-related topics presented by experts in their related fields. This series of lectures is another step in the Langdale College of Business commitment to provide its students with high quality education by broadening their horizons and introducing them to real life experiences.
