VSU 'Spring Fling' is a sign of Spring Break

Valdosta State University students will celebrate Spring Break the week of April 5, but first comes the VSU ?Spring Fling? on March 31. This year's Spring Fling focus is to provide awareness and education to students on the issues of safe partying, date rape prevention, violence in relationships, and basic healthy decision making during Spring Break and beyond.

?Spring Fling? is sponsored by The Haven and the VSU offices of Alcohol & Other Drug Education, the Counseling Center, and ?Women in Touch,? a VSU Counseling Center supported group. The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the VSU courtyard referred to as the Quad.

The ?Spring Fling? activities will include displays provided by campus and community participants offering information on their services. Free food, beverages, and entertainment will also be provided throughout the day. In addition, there will be a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) demonstration and an obstacle course demonstrating the dangers of drinking and driving.

Activities for Spring Fling will conclude with a dramatic presentation, ?The Pink Flamingo,? performed by VSU students at 7:00 p.m. in the Powell Hall Auditorium.
For more information about the various activities and how to be a part of the event, please contact Mr. Mark Williams at 259-5111 or Ms. Faye Altman at 333-5940.
