VSU to host nutrition conference
The 2003 annual Georgia Nutrition Council conference will be
held at Valdosta State University on March 6-7, at the University
Center. The conference is co-sponsored by the Southwest Georgia
Area Health Education Center.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6 and 8 a.m.
on Friday, March 7. Cost of the conference is $15 per day and
includes lunch. VSU's faculty, staff and students may attend the
sessions free of charge and attend the lunch for $10 per
person.
The conference is open to the public and is designed to increase
awareness of current nutrition research and provide the latest
information on nutrition and food science. It will address a
variety of health related issues including: osteoporosis
prevention; weight loss; nutrition for children; controlling
diabetes and genetics.
