VSU to host adult and career education conference

Valdosta State University's Department of Adult and Career Education will host the Tenth Annual Gulf South Adult and Career Education Conference on Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the College of Education Center.

The conference offers a variety of professional development opportunities for local educators and business professionals. Sessions include the latest developments in computer software, including Office XP and WebCT. Other sessions include assistive technology, investing, insurance, ethics, diversity, online learning and entrepreneurship.

?This conference provides a wonderful opportunity for educators or anyone to update their skills and knowledge in technology, business and industry,? said Dr. Randy McElvey, professor in the Department of Adult and Career Education.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the College of Education Center. Cost for the one-day workshop is $35 (includes luncheon) if participants register by Sept. 26.
