Bass named employee of the semester

Valdosta State University's Council on Staff Affairs named Joanne Bass, secretary to the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, as Employee of the Semester.

Bass began her career at VSU 17 years ago, and before working in the dean's office she worked as an accounting clerk in Student Financial Services and as a senior secretary in Career Planning and Placement.

Her duties include scheduling appointments and meetings for various individuals within the dean's office, reconciling the budget, and assisting students, faculty and staff with various projects for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Bass, and her husband, Curtis, have been married for 40 years and have four sons, three daughters-in-law and three grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, bowling, gardening and reading books from the ?Left Behind Series.?

As Employee of the Semester she received a framed certificate, reserved parking sticker and $100 from the Office of the President.
