Harding receives composers' award
Dr. Charles Tayloe Harding, Jr., head of the department of music
at Valdosta State University, has been chosen as a recipient of
this year's American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers'
ASCAPLU$ Standard Award.
The cash award, made by the ASCAP, is designed to assist and
encourage writers of serious music. They are granted by an
independent panel and based upon the unique prestige value of each
writer's catalog of original compositions, as well as recent
performances of those works in areas not surveyed by the
Society.
