The Future of Diversity at VSU

The culmination of the Celebration of Inclusion is the establishment of the Thomas/Pierce Scholarship in honor of the institution’s first two African American students, Drewnell Thomas and Robert Pierce. The scholarship will benefit first generation college students who maintain a 3.0 grade point average and remain in good academic standing at Valdosta State.

The university's yearlong celebration of 50 years of integration will culminate with “Celebrating 50 Years,” featuring award-winning actor, bestselling author and activist Hill Harper. The event will be held in the Student Union Ballroom Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. Key sponsors of the newly established Thomas/Pierce Scholarship Fund will be recognized at this event.

If you are interested in donating to the scholarship, please contact the Office of Social Equity about giving levels and donor incentives at (229) 333-5463, (229) 333-7387, or follow the link below.
