Rhett Watson is a Lecturer in the Social Work Program. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Valdosta State University, his Master of Social Work degree from Valdosta State University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for the State of Georgia. He taught as an adjunct instructor for Valdosta State University for 3 years and has been a member of the full-time faculty for 8 years at this point. Rhett’s area of specialty is clinical practice. He spent many years treating mental health and substance use issues through community mental health and served as manager for various child and adolescent programs. During that time, he was also a member of and chairperson of several county wide and regional committees for the facilitation of mental health and substance use interventions for children and adolescents. He has also provided staff trainings for multiple human services agencies in our community and provides clinical supervision for individuals working toward their LCSW licensure. He has served on various departmental and program committees and sub-committees over the past 8 years and worked extensively in curriculum development.
