VSU's chapter of Phi Kappa Phi presents its Chapter Award for academic excellence to an outstanding recent recipient of a bachelor's degree from any major field. The 2006 winner was Dr. Pamjeet Cobb, a 1998 junior inductee in mathematics.

At the national level, the Phi Kappa Phi Foundation promotes academic excellence by awarding 50 fellowships to student members beginning graduate or professional school the following fall. Each local chapter may nominate one student per year to compete for a national fellowship (worth $7,000).

In addition to the 50 national fellowships, the Foundation bestows 30 Awards of Excellence worth $1,000 each. Application deadline for these awards is February 1 of each year.

These and other awards, including study abroad grants and literacy grants, are detailed on the national PKP website.
