Disabling Pop-up Blockers
There are three types of software packages that can block pop-ups which are required to view training content:
- Internet Explorer
- Toolbars
- Antivirus or Internet Security Suites
Step 1:
Make sure Internet Explorer is open. Click on the Tools menu. Then, click Pop-up Blocker. Finally, click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
Note: If you see Turn On Pop-up Blocker instead of Turn Off Pop-up Blocker, skip to step 2, as Internet Explorer's pop-up blocker is already turned off.
Step 2:
Click the Start button on the bottom left corner of your desktop. Then, click Control Panel.

Step 3:
Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
Step 4:
Look for any entry with the word Toolbar in its name. Click the name of the entry. Then, click on the Remove button that appears. Follow the uninstallation steps presented.
Note: For some toolbars, you may see a Change/Remove button instead of a Remove button.
Step 5:
Disable any pop-up blockers in your anti-virus or internet security suite software. As this process varies from one software package to the next, please consult with the technical support for the publisher of the software for assistance performing these steps.
Note: If you are either using a VSU-owned computer or running the university recommended anti-virus software at home, you may skip this step, as neither will cause a conflict with online training content.
You have successfully verified that pop-up blockers are disabled. Please proceed to the walkthrough for Modifying Security Settings.
