Sue Mitchell Fuciarelli, Vice President for Finance and Administration BSBA, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, University of Central Florida Vice President Fuciarelli reports to the President and acts as agent of the Treasurer of the Board of Regents in all financial matters. Fuciarelli is responsible for the business and financial administration of the University, has custody of all funds, securities, and assets of Valdosta State University. She is charged with developing and maintaining fiscal policies and internal controls, ensuring the university’s compliance with regulatory agencies, and providing leadership within facility planning and development and responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of an annual budget of approximately $168 million . Her responsibilities include overseeing the offices of Auxiliary Services, Business Services, Environmental and Occupational Safety, Financial Services, Human Resources, University Police, Physical Plant and Facilities Planning. These seven Administrative Directors report to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Each unit is guided by their individual goals and objectives to accomplish the Division mission. The nature of each unit’s business is contingent on the university’s continuous need for people, facilities, products, activities, funds, services and information. Prior to VSU, Fuciarelli was the vice president for finance and business affairs at The Citadel. As one of six senior-level administrators reporting directly to the President and held the rank of colonel. She also served as the liaison to The Citadel Trust, which managed scholarship money. Her responsibilities included the development, implementation and monitoring of the Citadel’s annual budget. She also served as vice president for Business Affairs at Charleston Southern University from 2003 to 2008. While at CSU, she was responsible for financial and accounting operations, procurement, treasurer, budget, human resources, facilities management and construction, auxiliary services, and risk management. Fuciarelli also had oversight of a separate for-profit land development and joint venture corporation, which includes a franchise hotel operation and separate infrastructure. Formerly, she held consulting and financial management positions at Kaplan EduNeering, Hill-Rom Associates, United Medical Corporation, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. Fuciarelli has more than 15 years experience in business and financial management, both in the private sector and in higher education. |
