Trail of Tears

Under a cracking sky,
at the gray rumors of a black moon,
this wind, after a harsh and winding trail
drags unmercifully
tears fused in red earth.

There, hugging, reclining,
fallen eyes, bones for roots,
a womb without light.

A red swarm of flesh and plains
sculpted by the wind:
monument to an earth without a soul.

And time, without history,
contemplates carelessly
a roaring spectrum
that leaves with the dust,
riding on death.

Sangre nuestra

Bajo un cielo que se quiebra

en grises rumores de luna negra,

el viento, tras arduo y sinuoso sendero

arrastra inmisericorde

lágrimas fundidas en sangre tierra.

Allí, abrazados, reclinados;

párpados caídos, huesos por raíces,

vientre que llora sin luz.

Un rojo enjambre de carne y llanura

esculpido por el viento,

monumento a una tierra sin alma.

Y el tiempo, sin historia,

contempla inerte el rugir de aquel espectro

que se aleja en polvareda,

cabalgando la muerte.
