I. How To Download Your Portfolio

1. Login LiveText at: college.livetext.com/college.  (Using FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla)
2. On your main page, My Desk, select Create button (top of page).  The Create Document page opens.
3. From Choose a Folder dropdown list, under Valdosta State University select Portfolios.
4. From the Choose a Template dropdown list, select Your Program Portfolio (e.g.,
ECE Initial Program Portfolio).
5. Wait until the screen displays the template outline on the right side of the screen.
6. Enter the Title for your portfolio:Name of Your Program Portfolio”
(e.g., ECE Initial Program Portfolio).
7. Click “Create Document” button.


II. How To Download Your Teacher Work Sample

1. Login LiveText at: college.livetext.com/college.  (Using FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla)
2. On your main page, My Desk, select Create button (top of page).  The Create Document page opens.
3. From Choose a Folder dropdown list, under Valdosta State University select Projects.
4. From the Choose a Template dropdown list, select
the Teacher Work Sample for your program .
5. Wait until the screen displays the template outline on the right side of the screen.
6. Enter the Title for your Teacher Work SampleName of Your Program Teacher Work Sample”
(e.g., ECE Teacher Work Sample).
7. Click “Create Document” button

III. How To Edit Your Documents:

1. Login LiveText at: college.livetext.com/college.  (Using FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla)
2. On your main page, My Desk, find the document that you would like to edit (i.e., your portfolio, your TWS).
3. Open your document to edit by clicking on the name of your document.
4. After your document opens, find the section in your document that you would like to edit, and click on the "Edit" on the top right of that section.

5. An editing window will open and you can edit the section selected.
6. As you edit, you can save by clicking on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

7. When you have completed your editing, then click on the "Finish" button at the top right side (this will take you back to your document page).
8. You can select another section to edit or click on "My Desk" button (top left side) to take you back to your My Desk (main page).

IV. How To Submit Your Documents for Review

1. Login LiveText at: college.livetext.com/college.  (Using FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla)
2. On My Desk (main page), find your document you would like to share for review.
3. Click on your document for review.
4. After your document opens, click on the "Submit for Review" top of page.
5. Send to Reviewers small window will open.  Type last name of reviewer, this will bring up a list of names.
6. Click on the name of reviewer, this will put the reviewer’s name in the Send to Reviewer space.  Then click the “Send” button. (If you want to send to additional reviewers, repeat steps 4-6.)

7. Click “Finish.” (Your document will be sent to your reviewer’s LiveText account to be assessed.)

V. How To Hide & Unhide Pages & Sections of Your Portfolio or Documents in LiveText
(If you want to only send or submit only a certain page or section in LiveText, then you can hide the pages of your portfolio or document that you do not want to send.)
A.  How To Hide Pages
1. Open the portfolio or document in your LiveText that you want to send, but would like to hide some of the pages.
2.
At the top of the page, select "Edit Document."
3. Put a check in the box in front of all of the pages that you want to hide.  (The page that you want to send should not be checked.)
4. Click on the "Hide.(The text for the pages that you want to hide will turn a light gray color.)
5.
Click “Finish” at top right side of the page. (This will take you to the page that you did not hide and you are ready to Submit for Review or Share.)
(After you submit or share your document, then  you may want to unhide pages of your document.  Then your document will be ready to use again.)
Unhide PagesIf you want to unhide your pages: Select the Edit Document  and check the pages that you want to unhide.  Click on Unhide and then Finish.

B. How To Hide Sections on a Page
1. Open the page in your portfolio or document that you want to hide some of the sections.
2.
On the top right of the page, select "Edit Page."
3. Put a check in the box in front of all of the section(s) that you want to hide.  (The section(s) that you want to send should not be checked.)
4. Click on the "Hide.(The text for the pages that you want to hide will turn a light gray color.)
5.
Click “Finish” at top right side of the page. (This will take you to the page and section(s) that you did not hide and you are ready to Submit for Review or Share.)
(After you submit or share your document, then  you may want to unhide the sections.)
Unhide SectionsIf you want to unhide your sections: Select the Edit Page and check the sections that you want to unhide.  Click on Unhide and then Finish.


VI. How To View Your Assessments in LiveText

1. Login LiveText at: college.livetext.com/college.  (Using FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla)
2. On My Desk (main page), click on "Reviews" (under Collaborations on left side).
3. Under Sent for Review tab, click on "View" next to the document that you would like to view your assessment.
4. After your document opens, click on the "View Assessment" at top of page.  Assessment window will open and select the assessment rubric for your document.
5. A rubic window will open to view the assement for your document.  When you are done viewing your assessment, you can select "Close" at the bottom of the assessment window.

VII. How To Print a Copy of Your Assessment Rubric
1. Login LiveText at: college.livetext.com/college.  (Using FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla)
2. On My Desk (main page), click on "Reviews" (under Collaborations on left side).
3. Under Sent for Review tab, click on "View" next to the document that you would like to view your assessment.
4. After your document opens, click on the "View Assessment" at top of page.  Assessment window will open and select the assessment rubric for your document.
5. A rubic window will open with your assement,
and it will have a "Print" button to print your assessment rubric.

VIII. How To Download “Lesson Plan Template for ATTACHED Lesson Plan” & To Attach a Lesson Plan”
A.  Download Lesson Plan Template to Attach Documents
1. Login LiveText at: college.livetext.com/college.  (Using FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla)
2. On your main page, My Desk, select Create button (top of page).  The Create Document page opens.
3. From Choose a Folder dropdown list, under Valdosta State University select Lesson Plans.
4. From the Choose a Template dropdown list, select Lesson Plan Template for ATTACHED Lesson Plan.
5. Wait until the screen displays the template outline on the right side of the screen.
6. Enter the title for your document: give the name of the course for the lesson plan, lesson plan number (1 or 2), and the person that observed that lesson (Supervisor, Mentor, Peer, or Self-evaluation), for examples: “ECED 3000 Lesson Plan 1 Observed by Mentor” and “READ 3500 Lesson Plan 2 Observed by Supervisor.”
7. Click “Create Document” button.

B. Attaching Lesson Plan to the ATTACHED Lesson Plan Template
1. After Lesson Plan Template for ATTACHED Lesson Plan opens.
2. Select “edit” for the Section for Attaching Lesson Plan.
3. Complete the sentence in this section: Attached below is a lesson plan written for….
4. To add lesson plan file, click on “edit” at the end of the Attachments.
5. An attachment window opens.  To add your lesson plan file attachment, click on “Browse” and select your lesson plan to attach and click on Open.  Then the attachment window will open again.  Select Attach and then Finish.
6. This takes you back to the Edit page, and you should see your attachment at bottom of page.  Select Finish when you have completed your editing.
7. Now you are ready to share your Attached Lesson Plan Document with your course instructor and the person who observed you teaching the lesson.  (See below SectionIV: How To Share Your Documents.)


IX. How To Create a Page and Add Sections to a Page:
A.  How to Create a Page
1.    Open LiveText at college.livetext.com/college (Using Internet Explorer or Mozilla).
2.    To login enter: your username and password.
3.    On your main page (my desk), select your document (e.g., portfolio).
4.    Open your document.
5.    At the top right of your document, you will see edit/share/copy/print, more.
6.    Click on edit.
7.    You should then see Edit Document:_______ at the top of the page.
8.    Under this, you will see a row of buttons:

       Create Page/Order/Hide/Unhide/Edit Titles/Copy/Delete
9.    Click “Create Page” button.
10.    You will have a pop-up box that will appear that will prompt you to enter a page title (Please enter a Page Title).
11.    Type in the title of your page.
12.    The page will automatically be placed at the bottom of your list.
13.    Next, go back to the top and click on the “Order” button.
14.    An “Edit Page Order” box will appear.
15.    Using the side scroll down bar, scroll down to the bottom of the box.
16.    Click on your new page.
17.    When that page is highlighted (after you click on it), click on the arrow up button on the right side of the box.
18.    Keep clicking the up button until your highlighted page is at your desired location.
19.    Click the Save button at the bottom of the box.
          Congratulations, you have now created a page!


B.
  How to Create Sections a Page

1.    Open the page that you want to add a section and click on the Edit button on the right side of the page.
2.    At the top of the page, you see buttons labeled:
Create section, Order, Hide, Unhide, Edit Titles, Copy Delete.
3.    Click on Create Section.
4.    A drop-down box will appear. Click on “Text & Image.”
5.    A pop-up box will appear prompting you to enter a Section Title (Please enter a Section Title).
6.    Type the title in the pop-up box and click “OK
7.    Create another section, following steps 3-4.
8.    When your pop-up box appears, type in your new section title.
9.    Continue until you have created all the sections you would like.


X. How To Move Information & Files from your Old Portfolio to your New Portfolio:
(Tip - To move your portfolio information: open your "old portfolio" in Mozilla & your "new portfolio" in Internet Explorer.)

A. To Open Old Portfolio:

1. Open LiveText at college.livetext.com/college using Mozilla.
2. To login enter: your username and password.
3. On My Desk (main page), find your "old portfolio."
4. Open your "old portfolio."


B. To Open New Portfolio:

5. Open LiveText at college.livetext.com/college using Internet Explorer.
6. To login enter: your username and password.
7. On My Desk (main page), find your "new portfolio."
8. Open your "new portfolio."


C. To Move Text Information
from your Old Portfolio to your New Portfolio:
9. Now you have your "old portfolio" and your "new portfolio" open.
10. Open your "old portfolio" to the page that you want to copy text. (Do not open the edit window to copy text from your old portfolio.)  Highlight the text and copy.
11. Open your "new portfolio" to the section that you would like to add information from your "old portfolio" and click on the Edit on the top right of that section.
12. An editing window will open, paste the information from your "old portfolio" into your "new portfolio."
13. When you have completed your editing then click on the "Finish" button on the top right side (this will take you back to your portfolio page).


D. To Move Files from your Old Portfolio to your New Portfolio:
If you still have a copy of the file that you want to move from the old portfolio to the new portfolio, you can add the file as an attachment at the  bottom of the editing window, or you can copy & paste.  See directions below:
14. You should have your "old portfolio" and your "new portfolio" open.  (See directions VII above to open both portfolios.)
15. Open your "old portfolio" to the page that has the attachment that you want to move.  (Do not open the edit window to copy text from your old portfolio.)  Highlight the name of the attachment and copy.
16. Open your "new portfolio" to the section that you would like to add your attachment from your "old portfolio" and click on the Edit on the top right of that section.
17. An editing window will open, paste the name of the attachment from your "old portfolio"  into your "new Portfolio."  (Since your attachment is linked in your LiveText account, then your copied linked attachment will also be connected.)
18. When you have completed your editing then click on the "Finish" button on the top right side (this will take you back to your portfolio page).
