2nd Meeting - 8/20/07 Monday - Meeting in Room 200

3rd Meeting - 9/4/07 Tuesday - Library Workshop 9:30-11:00.  Meet librarian instructor,  Dr. Yolanda Hood, in Odum Library 3270 (third floor electronic classroom).

4th Meeting - 9/10/07 
Monday Practicum Meeting 1:00-1:50 in Room 200

   ** Practicum Information Sheet (sheet from practicum handbook that has information about your mentor, supervisor, etc.) Due:

5th Meeting - 11/26/07 Monday Practicum Meeting 1:00-1:50 in Room 200.
    ** Teaching video with lesson plan are due: 11/26/07
    ** Practicum Notebooks due: 11/26/07 (See Handbook for contents & order)

* Full Time in Practicum Classrooms:
October 29 through November 9, 2007 (This is when you assist in your practicum classroom Monday through Friday with mentor teacher's hours.)
* Ending Date of Practicum: Thursday November 15, 2007

    • Share your favorite fun & educational website from your student resource page.
      • Give the name of your favorite website and URL address.
      • Tell why you think this is an excellent educational website.
      • Give an example how you could use your favorite educational website in an elementary classroom.
  • Second Journal 10/12/07 
    • Discuss two or more classroom management strategies that you would implement in your pre-k or kindergarten practicum class.(e.g., classroom routines, transitions, distribution and collection of materials, grouping students, managing student behavior)
  • Third Journal 11/2/07
    • Discuss two or more uses of technology in a classroom ( e.g., technology available in the classroom and how technology could be used for instructions).
    • Discuss two or more activities and strategies that you would use technology in your pre-k or kindergarten practicum class.
  • Fourth Journal 11/9/07
    • Discuss three of the six listed stages of development of the students in your practicum classroom (e.g., cognitive development, physical development, social development, emotional development, moral development, gender differences)

  • Go about 5 miles on Highway 31 (over RR tracks and past Clyattville main intersection) Clyattville Elementary School is on right side of road (5386 Madison Highway).

Turn LEFT on Sustella Avenue and head south, past the cemetery.
Follow Sustella  @ .5 mile (Cross the intersection of West Mary Street)


TURN Right on West Gordon Street.

Travel @ .33 mile on West Gordon Street. (Pass West Gordon Elementary School on left.)

Turn Left on Hightower Street

Travel @ .2 mile on Hightower Street, crossing the railroad tracks.

Head Start is located in a new brick building on the left.

(Please park in the paved parking lot, leaving the spaces closest to the entrance for families.)
